The Supermicro GPU server SYS-420GP-TNR is with direct-attached backplane supporting 24 hot-swap drives, natively supports 8 SATA and 8 NVMe drives. With optional SAS controller cards are supported up to 16 SATA/SAS drives. Supports up to 8 GPUs, also Nvidia A100. On board dual 1Gb/s Intel Ethernet Controller I350 (2x RJ45) and dedicated RJ45 port for IPMI 2.0 remote management with KVM and remote virtual media mount. Flexible Root Configuration:
- Dual Root Topology - the two CPUs communicate with GPUs to provide balanced performance & higher CPU to GPU communication (HPC applications).
- Single Root Topology - the GPUs communicate with each other via a single CPU root complex, which provides excellent GPU peer to peer communication with reasonable CPU to GPU throughput (AI / ML workloads).
- Single Root Cascade Topology - the GPUs communicate with each other via the PCIe switches to provide lowest latency GPU peer to peer communication (specific AI / ML workloads).
