Virtual Machines (VMs) are exceptionally useful for developing client or corporate solutions. They can be moved, rolled back and they can access common hardware. However, there is a major challenge when it comes to creating them - it takes too long to define and allocate resources. Traditionally when you defined data storage, it was discrete, for each VM created on a system.

VMs can be used in companies as disposable commodities, allowing infinite workflows to be tested on them. Users can roll them back to their original state or use snapshots to go back to a critical testing juncture. When installing or migrating to new large scale multiple platforms across multiple sites, these VMs are also highly convenient to set up to replicate the client's system and test out the entire rollout process without the need for a client to witness the pain points during the early stage of an implementation project.

Once ready to deploy a solution, VM’s that were used for testing, can be rolled back, fresh data added from the client system, and VM’s quickly installed on the client’s machines. This is convenient and a software engineer doesn’t need to be present on-site every time a new project lands on your lap.

Why Virtual Storage Area Network (vSAN)?

vSAN focuses on deploying VM vSAN as rapidly as possible and provides you with the ability to provision storage and other resources from a single administration console. In collaboration with VMware, we are able to deliver an alternative to traditional fibre channel SAN, which is known for its complexity and operational challenges.

vSAN introduces a new high-performance storage tier optimized for enterprise-class virtual environments. It is simple to operate, robust and efficient; reducing the total cost of ownership. It is a perfect solution for enterprises that need scalability and a maximum cost to return solution.

A vSAN is a pre-configured single or multi-node server hardware configuration for use with vSAN VMs. Some solutions provide predefined or default configuration profiles including specific type and amount of CPU, memory, HDD, and IO Controller devices within each server.

Each configuration profile provides a differentiated price or performance focus, aimed at numerous user case requirements. Each profile assumes a target number of VM per node, utilizing an average VM profile size.

Clustering technology is used to reduce the risk of faults through incremental replication.

vSAN centralized storage solutions for VM solutions are the future for a whole multitude of applications, providing solution providers with VMs quicker and more economically. Whether you are conducting research, rolling out platforms at a multi-site level, or just running your business off them; clustered storage with replication will come in handy.

Together with flexibility, scalability, performance, manageability, and many other benefits of using VMware vSAN, with their 7th Update comes a new great feature – vSAN HCI Mesh. With this new update, vSAN administrators can mount remote vSAN datastores from other vSAN clusters, allowing customers to make even better use of spare storage they have on their vSAN clusters. With HCI Mesh, the compute for a VM can be run locally with the local vSAN cluster and its storage backend can be run in a remote vSAN datastore.

Benefits of vSAN

Single bundle for purchase

The solution comes with the appropriate licenses for vSphere and vSAN. Our team will help the client to simplify the setup process.

Simple Storage

vSAN integrates seamlessly with the vSphere platform for storage tasks. Storage management and provisioning are simple through a user-friendly application. vSAN automatically rebuilds and rebalances storage to maintain the quality of service from the storage resource; you don't need to do anything!

Lower Total Cost of Ownership by up to 50%

vSAN allows you to scale your storage environment eliminating overprovisioning.

High Performance

vSAN has integrated server-side flash to provide smart caching, providing lower latency and better throughput than conventional solutions; working similar to a hybrid HDD.

Fault Resilience

vSAN uses RAID and cache mirroring to ensure that all data is never lost in case of failures; enhancing system uptime and ensuring business continuity.

Peace of Mind

vSAN is jointly recommended with VMware. Their compatibility maximizes the success of implementation.
